Korean passport holders traveling to Sri Lanka as bona fide tourists for less than 90 days could apply for visas at the Embassy. They will be issued an entry visa on arrival.

Business visas


An application for a visa must be made at least one month before the date of intended travel.

An applicant must submit the following for the issue of a visa.

  • Two photographs (4.5c.m. x 3.5c.m.)
  • Copies of PR identity card/employment pass/dependent pass or work permit.
  • Korean passport holders are not required to submit Identity card
  • Letter of introduction from the company/ organization of the applicant
  • Return air ticket/Travel itinerary

Multiple entry visa for Business Personnel & Investors


The Embassy will issue multiple entry visa for a maximum period of 03 to 06 months with the prior approval of controller Department of Immigration and Emigration. The sole discretion to issue such visa will be with the Embassy and the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.


Criteria of issue


Multiple entry visas will be strictly confined to bona fide businessmen and to investors supported by following documentary proof.
Documents to be submitted:

  • Application for visa
  • Two passport size photographs
  • Return air ticket or travel itinerary
  • Letter of invitation from the Korean Company and the Sri Lankan Company or Recommendation letter from one of the following organizations:
  • Korean international chamber of commerce
  • Fees
    Single entry visa and Government Tax of K.Won 35,000 will be charged for a multiple entry visa.

Transit visa

An application for transit visa should be made well in advance of the date of travel. An applicant may be required to submit two copies of passport size photographs.
Fee for the transit visa is charged on a reciprocal basis.


Tourist visa

Nationals of the other countries residing in Korean may kindly check the visa requirements with the Embassy. It may be noted that visa fees are charged on a reciprocal basis.
