The Embassy of Sri Lanka launched 'The Mahinda Chinthanaya' Mobile Service for the benefit of Sri Lankan migrant workers who work in various parts of South Korea on 11th March 2007 for the first time.

According to 'Mahinda Chinthanaya' which is the election manifesto of present President H.E Mahinda Rajapakse, this Mobile Service is conducted by the Embassy under the guidance of the Head of the Mission.

Sri Lankan Migrant Workers as well as other Sri Lankans can get their consular work done at the mobile services. Passport renewals, attestation of documents, submitting of new application for new all countries passports, Registration of births, accepting marriage notices for performing marriages, are the main consular works performed by the Embassy staff. Apart from that, the migrant workers can discuss and get solutions for their labour problems. Further Embassy officials visit companies and meet CEO's and senior management as well as migrant workers working in those companies. Further more wherever, Sri Lankan migrant workers are hospitalized in consequence industrial accidents they too are visited by the Embassy staff.
