- The applicant must obtain an unmarried
certificate from the JP of his presently residing area in Sri
Lanka
- It should be certified from the Consular
Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Colombo 01. (No 14, 3rd
Floor, Sir Baron Jayathilaka Mawatha, Colombo)
- If one partner of the marriage is a
Korean National, before registering the marriage at Embassy,
marriage should be registered at the Korean - Gu office and
should obtain Korean marriage certificate. That marriage certificate
should be submitted to the Embassy in order to perform the marriage
at Embassy of Sri Lanka.
- if the applicants are divorcees, Divorce
Certificates should be submitted. Divorce certificate should
be certified by the Consular Division of M/FA.
General Procedure
- One of the parties to the marriage,
who should be a Sri Lankan citizen, should give notice of marriage
to the embassy.
- The marriage can be registered in the
Embassy after the lapse of twelve (12) working days from the
receipt of the Notice of marriage but within three (03) months
from such date.
- Valid passports of both parties should
be produced. (Korean citizens may produce other identification
documents, if passport is not available)
- Both parties should be present at the
Embassy in person
- Two (02) witnesses if they are Sri Lankans
should possess Sri Lankan valid passports . (Should possess
identification documents)
- Fee K.Won 40,000
Marraige between two Sri Lankan
Citizens
- Both parties should obtain Bachelor
Certificates (issued by JP in the applicant's home town, endorsed
by the Lawyer and the Justice Ministry thereafter by the Consular
Division of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Colombo)
- Fee K.Won 40,000
- General procedure above is also applicable.
